ANGLING
IN RØROS – OS – TOLGA – TYNSET – ALVDAL

Welcome to our region and to our rich facilities for angling and for other adventures in nature. The area has an aboundance of rivers, lakes and tarns, offering you a great variety of fish with regard to species, quantity and size.

Every person above the age of 16 has to buy a local fishing licence for the area(s) you want to fish in. The local Iicence can be bought at different shops, camp sites or at self service boxes in certain places (marked with this sign (kartsymbol for kasse)). Look under the heading “Salgssteder” to find the places where you can buy the licence.

In order to stop the spreading of minnow (Norw. “ørekyt”, a small carp fish which threatens the trout stock) and fish diseases, you should remember the following: It is forbidden to use minnow as bait (also dead). Fishing tackle etc. must be dried before it’s used again in another watercourse. Do not rinse fish in another watercourse than where it is caught.

As a main rule, it is not allowed to fish from boat. Other rules for the different areas you can find in your licence.

In Norway everyone has access to the open countryside by foot, but we urge you to note the following:
• Do not leave any litter.
• Building a fire is not allowed between 15 April and 15 September.
• Respect all wildlife. Dogs must be kept on a leash from 1 April to 20 August.
• You must not walk on agricultural land during the period 30 April to 14October.
• Motorised vehicles must not be used off the roads.

You may think we have many regulations, but our purpose is to preserve and protect our natural environment, so that you can return to enjoy the rivers, lakes and mountains in our region on a later occasion.
